DURAN® desiccator base, MOBILEX type with threaded connection (GL 32) and flat flange, DN 250, is a vacuum-compatible laboratory vessel component used to store moisture-sensitive substances and to dry moist products. Constructed from borosilicate glass 3.3, the base receives a drying agent in its lower zone, isolated by a perforated plate of metal or porcelain from the sample positioned on top. A vacuum line attached via a stopcock connection reduces internal pressure, accelerating evaporation and the overall drying process. All DURAN® desiccators are vacuum-tight and can be operated up to the technically maximum attainable vacuum. The flat ground joint requires thorough greasing to maintain a tight seal and to ease lid separation after evacuation. This MOBILEX-type base from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is compatible with every lid variant and ensures dense closure through the standard ground joint.
