DURAN® gas distribution tube with side-mounted filter cup, 6 mm diameter and porosity 0 is a laboratory glassware component for gas filtration and purification. Made of borosilicate glass 3.3, it incorporates a built-in glass filter that splits the incoming gas stream into fine bubbles, creating a large contact surface with the surrounding liquid. In gas-washing bottle setups the tube is immersed so gas must pass through the liquid, where impurities are retained before the cleaned gas exits. The permanently fired white print remains legible under routine laboratory use. Typical applications include reactions between gases and liquids, purification of gas mixtures and filtration tasks.
