DURAN® spherical joint ball, imperial size S 51/30 is a glass component for producing flexible connections of up to 15° depending on the joint size in laboratory setups. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3, it follows DIN 12244 and DIN 12264. Angles exceeding 5° can be expected to reduce tightness. The nominal size combines the nominal diameter of the spherical joint and, where relevant, the clear width of the tube diameter. Joint connections are to be used with joint grease or PTFE sleeves as a rule. Spherical joint clamps with locking screw form the ideal complement for securing the connection. Offering better releasability through higher flexibility of the joint, this non-self-supporting glass article is intended for further processing. It is suitable for vacuum applications and for installation in glass apparatus and devices.
