Description

VitraPOR® biplanar glass filter plate with a diameter of 10 mm and porosity grade 1 is produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 for dependable laboratory filtration. The disc has a thickness of 2,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 0,2 mm, ground faces and a plan-parallel surface that ensures uniform contact and consistent flow in filtration assemblies. These precisely dimensioned plates are supplied in packs of 10 pieces and integrate readily into glass apparatus requiring defined pore characteristics. Manufactured by ROBU - Stereon, the VitraPOR® filter plates combine the chemical resistance of borosilicate 3.3 with exact thickness control and parallel surfaces. Porosity 1 provides a specific filtration grade suited to a range of analytical and preparative applications. The biplanar, ground design supports secure mounting and reproducible performance wherever small-diameter sintered glass filter discs are specified for laboratory use.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

Questions about Filter Disc, bi-plane, 10 mm, Por. 1 Thickness 2.0 mm ± 0.2 mm

What is this article?

Filter Disc, bi-plane, 10 mm, Por. 1 Thickness 2.0 mm ± 0.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Consommables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
