HABITAT ferment, Control unit package for bioreactor, fermentation

HABITAT ferment control unit package is an optimised bioreactor solution for fermentation applications, enabling precise monitoring and control of bioprocesses. It comprises a control tower with full connectivity for gas supply, liquid addition, multiparameter sensors and temperature regulation, plus a user-friendly 10,4 inch tablet for intuitive operation. Operators can choose batch, fed-batch or perfusion/continuous modes; chaotic mixing supports homogeneous agitation when needed. Calibration management, real-time data visualisation and comprehensive process documentation are built into the control software, with optional support for FDA CFR Part 11 requirements. Four integrated mass flow controllers for N2, O2, air and CO2 provide adjustable gassing from 0,1 to 20 L/min with cascade control. Four bidirectional Watson-Marlow pumps dose acids, bases, antifoam and nutrients with high accuracy. Standard sensors in vessel packages cover pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, fill level and foam; optional sensors include CO2, conductivity, turbidity, viable cell mass, redox and off-gas analysis. PID temperature control works with single- or double-walled glass vessels, including optional heating blanket, cooling finger or thermostat (5–80 °C). Compact footprint: 223 × 402 × 450 mm (W × D × H). Connectivity covers USB, PC, RS232, Ethernet, external signal, external pump, single-use unit and thermostat. From manufacturer IKA; a separately available vessel package is required for a complete functional system.
