Description

InLab® 738 ISM-5m is a conductivity electrode for medium to high conductivity measurements, supplied with an extended 5 m fixed cable and LTW connector. It follows the same design as the InLab® 738 ISM reference model: a very robust epoxy shaft, a 4-pole graphite cell, a cell constant of 0,57 cm⁻¹ and a measuring range of 0,01–1000 µS/cm. Shaft length is 120 mm and shaft diameter 12 mm, supporting straightforward handling in typical laboratory vessels. Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM) keeps sensor data, calibration details and maximum temperature stored in the electrode and transfers them automatically to the meter on connection. The longer fixed cable is practical where the instrument sits farther from the sample. Ideal for SevenMulti, SevenGo and SevenCompact instruments, this sensor from manufacturer Mettler-Toledo OnLine brings durable materials and digital ISM convenience to routine conductivity work. Pack size is one piece for direct use in compatible measurement setups.

Questions about INLAB 738-ISM-5M

What is this article?

INLAB 738-ISM-5M is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Mettler-Toledo OnLine for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Instruments de précision.

A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
