Description
IO SP 20 shaking platform with 20 mm shaking stroke is a laboratory platform accessory for orbital shaking applications on compatible incubation shakers. The mounting plate measures 480 × 340 mm (W × D) and accommodates a defined set of holding clamps for common culture vessel formats: 96 × 10 ml (AS 2.0), 39 × 25 ml (AS 2.1), 39 × 50 ml (AS 2.2), 24 × 100 ml (AS 2.3), 12 × 200/250 ml (AS 2.4), 12 × 500 ml (AS 2.5), 6 × 1000 ml (AS 2.6) and 2 × 2000 ml (AS 2.7). This configuration supports flexible loading of flasks and tubes during shaken incubation. The IO SP 20 is included in the scope of delivery of the incubation shaker INC 125 FS digital (SP20) and is also available as a dedicated platform unit. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 7,040 kg, the platform from manufacturer IKA provides the 20 mm stroke geometry required for the associated shaker workflow. It is intended for laboratory use where reproducible orbital motion and organised vessel placement on the mounting surface are needed for culture and incubation tasks.

Questions about IO SP 20, Shaker platform with 20 mm shaking stroke
What is this article?
IO SP 20, Shaker platform with 20 mm shaking stroke is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Shakers, rockers & rotators, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Instruments de laboratoire.
A shaker, rocker or rotator moves a rack, a plate or a bottle so the contents keep moving without a stirrer bar. Orbital, reciprocating and rocking motions are different. The platform, the load and the speed range are the specification.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
