Description
LATcam camera microscope LATcam 2.0 is intended for microscopic examination of surfaces of every kind and, with its dedicated software, also supports scale-accurate measurement of distances, areas, angles and radii on magnified objects down to micrometre resolution (1 µm = 1/1000 mm). The unit connects directly to a PC via USB 2.0, with power supplied automatically through the same port, and works with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. Eight white LEDs provide illumination while magnification ranges from 10× to 200×. An integrated CMOS camera with 2,0 megapixel native resolution (5,0 megapixel interpolated) delivers sharp still images and AVI video; image resolution reaches 1600×1200 (display- and USB-dependent), interpolated 2560×2048, with 2896 DPI according to USAF-1951. Dual-axis 27× and 100× microscope lenses and measurement software for distances and areas are included. The black housing measures 110 × 33 mm. Supplied as a complete set from manufacturer LAT, the package contains the camera, stand, USB cable, operating instructions and software for immediate laboratory use.

Questions about LATcam Kameramikroskop
What is this article?
LATcam Kameramikroskop is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes LAT for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Instruments de laboratoire.
An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.
A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
