LAUDA Versafreeze VF 60040 is a laboratory ultra-low temperature upright freezer intended for long-term storage and quality assurance of organic substances and other materials. It covers a working temperature range of −40 to 0 °C with temperature constancy of ±2 K and temperature homogeneity of 4 K at −40 °C. Seven inner compartments, each fitted with an insulated door, help reduce cold loss during access. The fully stainless-steel usable space is 584 L (738 × 600 × 1320 mm); overall dimensions are 980 × 1029 × 1965 mm and net weight is 334 kg. High-grade vacuum insulation thins the walls to increase storage capacity at a given footprint. A densely routed cooling coil provides high freezing speed together with excellent temperature homogeneity and constancy. Cool-down from 20 °C to −40 °C takes 6 h; warm-up from −40 °C to 0 °C takes 12 h. Energy consumption is 7,5 kWh/d at −40 °C.
