Description

Mixed cellulose (CA-CN) syringe filter 4 mm, 0,45 µm Supersmall is a compact filtration device intended for laboratory sample preparation and clarification. It combines a mixed cellulose ester membrane of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate with a 4 mm diameter housing and a defined pore size of 0,45 µm. The Supersmall format is fitted with a Luer Lock connection that provides a secure, leak-resistant interface to standard syringes when processing limited sample volumes. Supplied unsterile in packs of 100 pieces, the filter supports routine particle removal, sample clean-up and pre-filtration steps in analytical chemistry, life-science and quality-control workflows. Manufactured by Berrytec, the mixed cellulose membrane offers good wettability and practical flow characteristics for aqueous solutions and many compatible solvents. Its small footprint is especially useful where sample quantities are restricted or bench space is limited. Typical applications include HPLC sample preparation, buffer filtration and general particulate control requiring consistent 0,45 µm retention under normal syringe pressures.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about filtre seringue mixed cellulose(CA-CN) 4mm, 0.45µm Supersmall

What is this article?

filtre seringue mixed cellulose(CA-CN) 4mm, 0.45µm Supersmall is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Berrytec for laboratory use. It sits in Filtres seringue, inside Filtration, in Consommables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
