Description

Nalgene™ HDPE quick disconnects enable a fast, smooth junction between two liquid transfer paths in laboratory fluid-handling setups. Moulded from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the connectors are specified for tubing with an inner diameter from 3/8 to 7/16 in., corresponding to a smallest tubing inner diameter of 9,5 mm and a largest of 11 mm. This range covers common flexible tubing sizes used for aqueous media, buffer lines and general non-pressurised transfer between vessels, pumps and process modules. The quick-disconnect design supports rapid make-and-break connections when lines must be reconfigured, cleaned or exchanged without lengthy assembly steps. Supplied as a case of 72 pieces, the pack quantity suits high-throughput labs, teaching benches and production support areas that consume many fittings. These Nalgene™ connectors come from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics and are classified as quick disconnects for fluid-path work. Gross weight is 0,580 kg with a packaging volume of 0,006 m³ per case. Choose them when HDPE chemical resistance and a defined 9,5–11 mm tubing I.D. window are required for reliable laboratory liquid routing.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ HDPE Quick Disconnects

What is this article?

Nalgene™ HDPE Quick Disconnects is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Matériel de laboratoire.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
