Description
Nalgene™ graduated cylinders with PMP graduations are polymethylpentene measuring cylinders that meet ASTM Class B accuracy requirements under E1272. The 2000 ml capacity model offers a tolerance of ±12 ml and molded graduations at 20 ml intervals from 200 ml to 2000 ml. Each cylinder has a generous pour spout for controlled transfer and a hexagonal base that improves stability on the bench. The round PMP body is autoclavable and rated for use up to 145 °C. Calibration is specified both to contain and to deliver, supporting flexible volumetric workflows. Material conformity to CFR 21, Part 177.1520 is indicated. Available from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these cylinders are supplied as a case of four units and suit routine measuring and mixing tasks in research and quality-control laboratories where durable embossed graduation marks and the chemical resistance of polymethylpentene are required for everyday volumetric work.

Questions about Nalgene™ PMP Plastic Graduated Cylinders
What is this article?
Nalgene™ PMP Plastic Graduated Cylinders is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Matériel de laboratoire.
A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
Which category should I open next?
