Description

Nalgene™ Teflon™ FEP separatory funnels with closure provide chemically inert, translucent vessels for reliable phase separations in the laboratory. Constructed from fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), they are chemically resistant, leakproof and fitted with a TFE stopcock that requires no greasing. Autoclavability supports repeated sterilisation, while the translucent wall allows clear observation of interfaces during extraction. This model offers a nominal capacity of 1000 ml (1 l), a height of 371 mm and a 53 mm size detail. Units are supplied one per pack and four per case (case of 4), matching multi-user or high-throughput needs. From manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, the Nalgene™ FEP design is intended for analytical and preparative chemistry where fluoropolymer inertness and low maintenance matter more than traditional glassware. Gross weight of the packaged goods is 1,300 kg. The combination of FEP body and TFE stopcock delivers durable, grease-free operation for everyday liquid–liquid separation tasks.

This article is part of Separating funnels, in Funnels.

Questions about Nalgene™ Separatory Funnels made with Teflon™ fluoropolymer

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Separatory Funnels made with Teflon™ fluoropolymer is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Separating funnels, inside Funnels, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A separating funnel lets two immiscible liquids settle into layers and then runs off the lower one through a stopcock. The shape, Squibb or pear, changes how sharp the interface is as the last millilitres leave. The stopper and the stopcock are both needed.

A funnel guides a liquid or a powder into a narrower mouth. A filter funnel holds a paper. A Büchner funnel is the flat perforated plate used with vacuum. A separating funnel has a stopcock so two liquid layers can be run off one at a time. A dropping funnel adds a reagent slowly into a reaction. The bore and the stopcock are the parts that matter. This glassware is listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
