Manufactured from glass of the 1st hydrolytic class, they address micro-volume sample introduction where surface activity of untreated glass can affect analyte recovery. The silanised surface reduces adsorption of polar or sticky compounds on the glass wall, which is useful in trace-level GC and HPLC work. A conical profile concentrates the liquid at the base for efficient needle uptake, and the polymer foot supports stable seating in compatible wide-mouth bottles.
