The aluminium design provides very rapid cooling and extended cooling performance, supporting temperature-critical applications including PCR. Specially formed bores improve heat exchange and help prevent tubes from falling out, protecting samples during handling. Temperature is distributed evenly when the block is pre-cooled or pre-warmed, and also when used without prior tempering. With a small footprint it fits every ice bath, standard water baths and hot plates. Processing with multichannel pipettes is straightforward, and the format suits 96-well microplates plus 8- and 12-tube strips. Compact sample arrangement allows one-handed operation of screw caps.
