Description
Pressure relief/check valve with NS 14,5/23 without stopcock is a dual-function laboratory fitting that provides both overpressure protection and non-return capability. A spring-loaded ball joint serves as the pressure-relief element, while a higher-viscosity sealing liquid ensures reliable tightness. Spring pressure is adjustable; the valve can also be preset and sealed on request. Maximum overpressure is limited to 0,1 bar. When operated as a check valve the device is suitable for vacuum service; an integrated riser tube prevents contamination of the system by the sealing liquid. For particularly aggressive media the spring may additionally be covered with an inert liquid. This valve from manufacturer LAT is supplied without a stopcock and features a standard ground joint NS 14,5/23 for direct incorporation into distillation trains, vacuum lines or other glassware assemblies requiring controlled pressure relief and back-flow prevention.

Questions about Non-Return Valves
What is this article?
Non-Return Valves is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes LAT for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Matériel de laboratoire.
A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
Which category should I open next?
