Description
Portable EC/TDS/°C meter HI99300 is a waterproof handheld instrument for low-range conductivity, total dissolved solids and temperature measurement. It covers conductivity from 0 to 3999 µS/cm and TDS from 0 to 2000 mg/L (ppm), with automatic temperature compensation provided by the sensor integrated in the supplied HI763063 EC/TDS/temperature probe (Quick-DIN connector, 1 m cable).
This article is part of Conductivity meters & cells, in pH & electrochemistry. See also pH meters.
The HI99xxxx-series design focuses on comfort and sealed operation: application-specific probes with Quick-DIN make the complete system water- and dust-tight, while a rubber-protected connection keeps the cable secure. Two-key operation allows fast selection of range and calibration points; conductivity calibration is automatic, one-point (1413 µS/cm or corresponding ppm standards). The TDS factor is adjustable in 0,01 steps between 0,45 and 1,00. A multilevel LCD presents the key values at a glance, and the IP67 housing safeguards the electronics in harsh surroundings. Delivered from manufacturer Hanna Instruments with the HI763063 probe, starter calibration solutions, batteries, manual and quality certificate in a robust carrying case. Temperature range is 0,0 to 60,0 °C; instrument dimensions are 154 × 63 × 30 mm.

Questions about Portable EC/TDS/Temperature meter, LR, incl. HI763063, 1 m cable, DIN
What is this article?
Portable EC/TDS/Temperature meter, LR, incl. HI763063, 1 m cable, DIN is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Instruments de précision.
A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
