Description
PR 39 propeller stirrer (PTFE) is a laboratory impeller designed for homogenising highly viscous media. Blade geometry suits vessels with an ideal diameter of 188–375 mm, bottom clearance of 38–75 mm, fill height of 188–375 mm and working volumes from 5.200 to 41,400 ml. The stirring element consists of a PTFE blade mounted on a PTFE-coated stainless-steel shaft; the steel core provides rigidity and secure clamping, while the thick-walled PTFE jacket yields an outer shaft diameter of 8 mm. In the chucking zone the diameter is 6,5 mm. Anti-adhesive PTFE surfaces simplify cleaning and permit continuous use up to a maximum application temperature of 250 °C. This propeller stirrer from manufacturer Heidolph is supplied as one piece and is particularly useful where chemical inertness and easy residue release are required. It supports demanding mixing tasks in preparative chemistry, formulation and process laboratories that handle viscous solutions, pastes or suspensions within the stated vessel range.

Questions about PR 39 Pitched-Blade Impeller (PTFE)
What is this article?
PR 39 Pitched-Blade Impeller (PTFE) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Heidolph for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Instruments de laboratoire.
A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
