Description

qpore® syringe filters with a sterile hydrophobic PTFE membrane are intended for filtration of media that require high chemical resistance. The 0,45 µm pore size and 25 mm diameter provide an effective filtration area for laboratory sample preparation, while the biologically and chemically inert PTFE membrane supports high flow rates and a low dead volume. Stability across the full pH range from 1 to 14 allows use with strongly acidic or alkaline solutions. The units are free from DNA, DNase, RNase and pyrogens, supporting sensitive molecular biology and analytical workflows. Connections are Luer-Lock female and Luer-Lock male for secure coupling to standard syringes. Membrane type and pore size are printed on each housing to avoid mix-ups during routine work. Each filter is individually sterile packed, and the pack contains 100 pieces from manufacturer neolab - Labor. These qpore® PTFE syringe filters are well suited to solvent filtration, aggressive media handling and general sterile filtration steps where chemical inertness and reliable flow performance are essential in the laboratory.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about qpore® Spritzenvorsatzfilter, PTFE, steril, 0.45 µm, Ø 25 mm

What is this article?

qpore® Spritzenvorsatzfilter, PTFE, steril, 0.45 µm, Ø 25 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Consommables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
