Description

neoChoice membrane filter in cellulose acetate (CA), non-sterile, combines a 0,2 µm pore size with a 47 mm diameter for hydrophilic filtration of aqueous laboratory samples. Cellulose acetate membranes are well suited to sterile and clarifying filtration of aqueous solutions in the pH 4–8 range, as well as culture media and buffers, and they are also compatible with alcohol and oil. The hydrophilic structure supports high, uniform flow rates, which helps maintain consistent throughput during routine vacuum or pressure filtration. Maximum thermal stability is given as 180 °C, supporting handling under elevated process temperatures within that limit. These plain membrane discs from manufacturer neolab - Labor are supplied non-sterile, so users apply their own sterilization protocol when sterility is required. Packed as 100 pieces, the format fits standard 47 mm filter holders commonly used in microbiology, media preparation and general laboratory clarification work where a fine 0,2 µm CA membrane is specified.

This article is part of Membrane filters, in Filtration.

Questions about neoChoice Membranfilter, Cellulose Acetat (CA), unsteril

What is this article?

neoChoice Membranfilter, Cellulose Acetat (CA), unsteril is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Consommables.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
