SONOREX FT 4 foil test frame is a wire frame accessory designed for performing aluminium foil tests according to IEC 886 on ultrasonic cleaners. The test visualises intensity and distribution of cavitation in the oscillating tank: an inserted aluminium foil is perforated or destroyed to a defined degree depending on exposure time, allowing simple documentation and comparison of cavitation patterns over the service life of the unit. Regular foil testing supports process verification, for example in the reprocessing of medical devices. Frame selection depends on the size of the ultrasonic cleaner; the wire frames cover a wide range of tank dimensions. Additional foil blanks (FL 4, FL 14, FL 40, FL 45) are required for the test and are not included. Internal dimensions are 160 × 200 mm. Supplied as a single package from manufacturer Bandelin, the frame enables straightforward archiving of test foils by scanning or photography so that successive results can be compared at any time. Perforated areas should show comparable extent and distribution, though they are never identical.
