Its NTC sensing element enables precise readings with an accuracy of up to ±0,2 °C. The probe features a rounded tip and a short probe tube of 35 mm length, and is splash-protected to IP 54. Response time t99 is 15 seconds when measured in moving water at +60 °C; the time increases for still liquids, pasty media or air. In air the response is typically 40 to 60 times longer than the water value, so brief temperature peaks have little influence—useful, for example, when monitoring refrigerator air temperature after a short door opening. This compact stub probe from manufacturer Testo is intended for laboratory and process applications that require a short immersion length and is supplied as a single unit with a net weight of 0,02 kg.
