The TRISON is a modular ultrasonic bath for the intensive (pre)cleaning of high-quality medical instruments with special emphasis on complex da Vinci robotic instruments (type Xi) from the manufacturer Intuitive Surgical.
The cleaning process is optimised by combining the listed methods of action:
Ultrasound
Contamination, including at the distal end and in the hard-to-reach lumen of the instruments, is thoroughly cleaned off by gentle ultrasonic cavitation without damaging the instruments. It is advantageous to manually reach places in the instrument that are difficult or inaccessible, since ultrasound develops wherever bath fluid is present. Mechanical damage, such as scratches, is avoided (''electronic brushing'').
Single instrument movement
In the TRISON the da Vinci robotic instruments are permanently moved during the ultrasonic cleaning process. This means that the dirty working tools, joints and also all cables from the drive adapter to the instrument tip are effectively cleaned by ultrasound.
Suction-pressure rinsing
da Vinci robotic instruments are subjected alternately to suction and pressure flushing. Irrigatable MIS instruments only with a suction irrigation.
Individual instrument testing
In the TRISON, robotic and MIC instruments are thoroughly rinsed during ultrasonic cleaning and individually checked for flow.
Clogged instruments are detected by the software and displayed after reprocessing.
