Description

Tungsten Standard Solution is a metallo-organic standard containing 1000 mg/kg W in 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil, presented as a ROTI®Star preparation for AAS and ICP. The 50 ml pack weighs 0,100 kg and is characterised by a density of 0,862 g/cm³, a flash point of 115 °C and a boiling point greater than 218 °C. These data describe the hydrocarbon-oil matrix in which tungsten is dissolved at the stated mass fraction. From manufacturer Carl ROTH, the solution belongs to the analytical chemicals used as metallo-organic standards when atomic absorption spectrometry or inductively coupled plasma methods require an oil-soluble tungsten reference. The 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil vehicle carries the tungsten content, and the density of 0,862 g/cm³ allows laboratories to relate weighed aliquots to volume when taking portions from the 50 ml unit. Flash point and boiling point values (115 °C and >218 °C) inform handling of the organic matrix. With tungsten fixed at 1000 mg/kg W, this ROTI®Star standard is used for AAS and ICP determination of W in organic matrices.
