Description

Two-necked pear-shaped flask, 50 ml, DURAN® is a compact laboratory vessel designed for preparative and synthetic work that benefits from a pear-shaped body and dual ground-glass necks. The centre neck is finished as NS 19/26 and the side neck as NS 14/23, allowing simultaneous connection of condensers, dropping funnels, thermometers or gas inlets while keeping the reaction volume modest. The pear geometry concentrates the liquid at the base, which supports efficient stirring and heat transfer in small-scale distillations, reflux setups and multi-step organic reactions. Manufactured from DURAN® glass by Lenz, the flask offers the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected of standard laboratory borosilicate ware for everyday bench use. Supplied as a single piece weighing 0,055 kg, it fits standard jointed glassware trains and is suitable for teaching laboratories as well as research environments where space-efficient multi-neck vessels are required. Clear joint sizing simplifies apparatus planning and interchange with other NS components.

Questions about Two-necked pear shaped fl., 50ml, DURAN®, Centre neck NS 19/26

What is this article?

Two-necked pear shaped fl., 50ml, DURAN®, Centre neck NS 19/26 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lenz for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
