Description

Ultra Clear RO EDI 20 is a reverse osmosis and electrodeionisation (EDI) combination pure water system that continuously produces high-quality pure water from drinking water. Using Ultra Clear® RO EDI technology with Ionpure EDI, the system delivers pure water conductivity down to 0,055 µS/cm at a production rate of 20 l/h. The EDI stage additionally reduces TOC, endotoxin levels and microbial counts, supporting consistent, cost-efficient Type II-class supply. Typical laboratory uses include feeding dishwashers, autoclaves and ultrasonic systems as well as preparation of media, dilution reagents and buffers. The compact pure-water unit from manufacturer Evoqua Water Technologies requires hardness-free or hardness-stabilised feed water at 30–44 l/h, inlet pressure 0,1–5 bar, temperature 5–30 °C and feed conductivity below 1400 µS/cm (TDS 750 mg/l), with defined limits for SDI, iron, free chlorine, CO2 and SiO2. Operating pressure is maximum 6 bar; energy demand is 0,2 kW with electrical connection 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz. Dimensions are 340 mm width, 420 mm depth and 520 mm height; net weight is 32 kg and gross weight 37 kg. Supply is via Type F protective-contact plug.

This article is part of Ultrapure & pure water systems, in Water purification.

Questions about Ultra Clear RO EDI 20 - Reverse osmosis/ EDI combination Pure Water System

What is this article?

Ultra Clear RO EDI 20 - Reverse osmosis/ EDI combination Pure Water System is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Evoqua Water Technologies for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrapure & pure water systems, inside Water purification, in Instruments de laboratoire.

A pure-water system, often by reverse osmosis and deionisation, feeds the laboratory. An ultrapure polisher takes that water to the resistivity and organic levels HPLC or cell culture ask for. Production rate and the feed water it expects are the specification. The system is not a cooler.

Laboratory water is a reagent. Tap water carries ions, organics and microbes that become part of every result they touch. A pure-water system takes most of them out. An ultrapure system, often a polisher after a first stage, is what HPLC, cell culture and trace analysis ask for. Resistivity, total organic carbon and endotoxin are different claims. A cartridge is spent when the number drifts, not when the calendar says so. The measurement of those impurities sits with NIST and the BIPM.
