Description
Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 500 ml is a sterile stand-up plastic sampling bag with write-on strip, developed for collecting chlorinated water intended for faecal coliform and other bacterial testing. Each bag contains a non-toxic, non-nutritive tablet of active sodium thiosulfate that neutralises chlorine at the moment of sampling, supporting reliable microbiological results. Typical use includes municipal water systems, swimming pools, wastewater and related monitoring programmes. The bags are EPA-approved and combine the familiar Whirl-Pak closure with Tyvek® pull tabs for contamination-free opening. After filling with liquid or solid sample material, the bag is closed by whirling the tabs three times or folding them tightly and bending the wire ends. Supplied in packs of 100 pieces from manufacturer neolab - Labor, these disposable bags reduce reliance on costly glass or plastic bottles and help lower operating, storage and disposal effort in routine laboratory and field sampling workflows.
This article is part of Vortex mixers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 500 ml, Kunststoffbeutel mit Schriftfeld und Natriumthiosulf
What is this article?
Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 500 ml, Kunststoffbeutel mit Schriftfeld und Natriumthiosulf is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Vortex mixers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Instruments de laboratoire.
A vortex mixer oscillates a cup so a tube pressed into it spins its contents into a vortex. It mixes a tube in seconds. It does not mix a flask, and it is not a substitute for a shaker when the method says thirty minutes.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
