LabSen 231 pH-elektrode is een gespecialiseerde sensor voor emulsies, suspensies, afvalwater en monsters die protein of sulphide bevatten. Gebouwd met gepatenteerde Zwitserse sensortechnologie en materialen van fabrikant APERA Instruments combineert zij een tweeporige diafragmastructuur met polymeer-elektrolyt dat zeer drukbestendig blijft en helpt voorkomen dat vaste stoffen bezinken en het meetelement verstoppen. Het referentiesysteem met lange levensduur gebruikt een glazen buis, AgCl en een referentiezilverdraad; katoen aan de bovenkant van de slanke buis beperkt de reactie tussen AgCl en elektrolyt bij temperatuurveranderingen, waardoor de referentiestabiliteit verbetert en de elektrodelevensduur wordt verlengd. Een halfbolvormig type-S-glasmembraan weerstaat gewone impacts veel beter dan conventionele bolmembranen en kan worden gebruikt in monsters met hoge temperatuur tot 80 °C. De loodvrije glazen schacht meet Ø12 × 120 mm. Polymeer-elektrolyt staat rechtstreeks in contact met het monster zonder diafragmaverstopping en ondersteunt een tegendrukcapaciteit tot 6 bar, waardoor de elektrode goed geschikt is voor suspensie- en afvalwaterwerk. De aansluiting is BNC, compatibel met meters zoals PH850, PC850, PH8500, PC8500, PH700 en verwante modellen. Er is geen temperatuursensor geïntegreerd; automatische compensatie vereist een afzonderlijke sonde of handmatige temperatuurinvoer. Het meetbereik is 0–14 pH; de bewaaroplossing is 3M KCl.
