Whirl-Pak® kunststofzakken van 23 x 11.5 cm (L x W) zijn veelzijdige steriele monsterzakken gemaakt van low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Ze zijn bijzonder geschikt voor vloeibare monsters bij voedsel-, water- en afvalwatertests en zijn even nuttig voor biologische of chemische specimens die een veilige, lekvaste opsluiting vereisen. De vulopening is aan beide zijden versterkt met een metalen strip die de opening strak houdt voor gemakkelijk vullen en een betrouwbare sluiting ondersteunt. Om hermetisch te sluiten wordt de zak aan de metalen strip vastgehouden, meerdere keren om zijn as gedraaid, waarna de stripeinden worden omgevouwen en stevig aangedrukt. De zak kan zo vaak als nodig worden geopend en opnieuw gesloten zonder de sluitfunctie te verliezen. Een sterke doorlopende lasnaad langs alle zijden biedt extra zekerheid tijdens transport en opslag.
