Ac1 is een uitstekende marker voor hartweefsel; het onderscheidt foetaal (cardiaal) a-actine van alle andere actine-isovormen. Foetaal actine kan na letsel gelokaliseerd worden in regenererend skeletspierweefsel (in satellietcellen) en in aderen van de navelstreng. Mab Ac1-20.4.2 vertoont geen kruisreactiviteit met andere actine-isovormen die aanwezig zijn in skelet- en gladde spieren, mits er stringente experimentele condities zijn toegepast. Reagerend polypeptide: specifiek voor de foetale (cardiale) isovorm van actine.
