Bismuth Standard Solution is a metallo-organic analytical standard with a bismuth content of 5000 mg/kg in 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil, supplied as a ROTI®Star reagent for laboratory calibration. The 50 ml pack serves atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) methods that require bismuth in a hydrocarbon matrix. Density is 0,862 g/cm³, the flash point is 115 °C and the boiling point is greater than 218 °C, describing a viscous oil carrier rather than an aqueous metal standard. These physical properties help laboratories plan dilution, dispensing and sample introduction for oil-based elemental analysis. Prepared by manufacturer Carl ROTH, the solution is part of the metallo-organic standards used when the sample matrix is oil rather than water. The 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil supports blending with similar oils to prepare intermediate and working calibrants from the 5000 mg/kg Bi stock. Laboratories can use this concentration to build calibration curves, verify instrument response and run quality-control checks for bismuth in organic media.
