BMT-20-S-IVD.50 is een wegwerpmengvat met geïntegreerde roereenheid, bedoeld voor in-vitrodiagnostische toepassingen. Elke gammasteriele buis is dubbelsteriel verpakt en bevat een roereenheid, tien roestvrijstalen kogels (5 mm) en 5 ml 0.9 % zoutoplossing; de schroefdop bevat een doorprikbaar membraan. Met een nominaal volume van 20 ml en een werkbereik van 5–15 ml ondersteunt de buis droog malen, celdisruptie en natte verkleining van patiëntmonsters voor microbiologische en moleculaire analyses. Monsterdesintegratie wordt bereikt door de buis te bewegen; proceszekere verkleining is bijzonder effectief met de IKA ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive. De eenmalige BMT-20-S-IVD is geclassificeerd als een in-vitrodiagnostisch hulpmiddel volgens Richtlijn 98/79/EC, vervaardigd volgens ISO 13485:2016 en vrijgegeven voor alle EU-landen. De maximale geautomatiseerde verwerkingstijd is één minuut; langere runs kunnen mechanische overbelasting en lekkage veroorzaken, zodat de procedure door de gebruiker moet worden gevalideerd.
