Beschrijving

C 200 calorimeter is a compact, standards-compliant low-cost combustion calorimeter for determining the gross calorific values of liquid and solid samples. It is particularly suited to teaching and training environments such as schools, universities and practical courses, as well as laboratories with modest sample throughput. Measurements follow DIN 51900, ISO 1928 and relevant ASTM methods including D240, D4809, D5865, D1989, D5468 and E711. Water and oxygen handling are manual. Four operating modes—isoperibol, manual, dynamic and time-controlled—allow adaptation to different tasks. In manual (learning) mode the operator triggers ignition and measurement end; in the other modes ignition and calorific-value calculation run automatically and the result appears on the clear, self-explanatory display. Typical measuring times are approximately 17 min (isoperibol/manual), 8 min (dynamic) and 14 min (time-controlled). The system from manufacturer IKA comprises the C 200 measuring cell, C 5010 digestion vessel, C 248 oxygen station and consumables for installation and calibration. An external power supply covers 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, while the calorimeter itself operates at 24 V DC. The C 5010 vessel can be converted for C 14 disposable crucibles, and optional CalWin software or multi-cell PC operation is supported.

Questions about C 200, Calorimeter

What is this article?

C 200, Calorimeter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Instrumenten.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
