DURAN® reactievat met vlakke flens met groefflens is een laboratoriumreactievat met groot volume dat dient als robuust alternatief voor rondbodemkolven. Met een nominaal volume van 4 l en een vlakke flens DN 150 bestaat het vat uit een onderstuk en een deksel die door een klemring bij elkaar worden gehouden. Een pakking of slijpvet voorkomt dat de geslepen vlakken vastlopen. Diverse standaard slijpstukken in het deksel maken een eenvoudige combinatie mogelijk met extra componenten zoals druppeltrechters, roerassen en ander laboratoriumapparaat. Het is zeer geschikt voor preparatief werk, waaronder algemene reacties, destillaties, indampingen en droogprocessen waarbij vaste of zeer viskeuze stoffen voorkomen. Door zijn geometrie en aanzienlijke wanddikte maakt het vat een veilige werking onder druk en vacuüm mogelijk, tot het technisch maximaal haalbare vacuüm.
