Hydrofobe fase met alternatieve selectiviteit in vergelijking met klassieke C18-modificaties. Het scheidingsprincipe is gebaseerd op twee retentiemechanismen: π-π-interacties en hydrofobe interacties. Dit zorgt voor een betere retentie van aromatische en onverzadigde stoffen. Deze stationaire HPLC-fase is gebaseerd op silicagel-deeltjes met core-shell-technologie en vertoont uitstekende prestaties onder sterk waterige omstandigheden. De speciale fasemodificatie van NUCLEOSHELL® Biphenyl met isobutyl-zijketens leidt tot lage bleeding-eigenschappen, zelfs bij zeer zure pH-waarden in vergelijking met kolommen van concurrenten. Door deze isobutyl-zijketens en de meervoudige endcapping-procedures treedt er geen fase-instorting op en is stabiliteit in een 100% waterige mobiele fase gegarandeerd.
