IoT-Line compacte laboratoriumbalans KERN PCB 300-2 is een laboratoriumstandaard die is gebouwd voor de brede mogelijkheden van Industry 4-workflows. Hij is compatibel met schoolspecifieke software zoals Vernier® of LabQuest® en kan, via het KERN School Protocol, weeggegevens via de USB-gegevensinterface overdragen naar een pc of laptop voor evaluatie en visualisatie tijdens technische experimenten. De geïntegreerde KERN Universal Port (KUP) van fabrikant Kern accepteert opsteekbare interfaceadapters zoals RS-232, USB, Bluetooth, WLAN of Ethernet, zodat interfaces kunnen worden nageïnstalleerd zonder de behuizing te openen of een complexe installatie. Met de Extension Box KERN KUP-13 kunnen maximaal drie KUP-adapters parallel werken. Het KERN Communication Protocol (KCP) ondersteunt opvragen en afstandsbediening vanaf externe controllers of computers. Een uniform bedieningsconcept omvat PRE-TARE voor bekende containergewichten, een receptfunctie voor mengsels met meerdere componenten met terugroep van het totaalgewicht, controlewegen met een optisch signaal voor portioneren, doseren of sorteren, en vrij programmeerbare weegeenheden (bijvoorbeeld g/m of g/m²). Een antischoksysteem tussen schaal en weegcel vermindert trillingen voor snellere, betrouwbaardere resultaten. Een beschermende werkhoes is inbegrepen in de leveringsomvang.
