IoT-Line compacte laboratoriumbalans KERN PCB 300-3 is een laboratoriumstandaard die geschikt is voor diverse Industry 4-toepassingen. Compatibel met schoolspecifieke oplossingen zoals Vernier® of LabQuest®, gebruikt hij het KERN School Protocol om weeggegevens via de USB-gegevensinterface naar een pc of laptop te sturen voor evaluatie en visualisatie bij technische experimenten. Fabrikant Kern voorziet de balans van een geïntegreerde KERN Universal Port (KUP) voor eenvoudig opgestoken adapters, waaronder RS-232, USB, Bluetooth, WLAN of Ethernet, waardoor een gemakkelijke nainstallatie mogelijk is zonder de behuizing te openen. Maximaal drie KUP-adapters kunnen parallel werken met de Extension Box KERN KUP-13. Het KERN Communication Protocol (KCP) maakt ondervraging en afstandsbediening vanaf externe apparaten of computers mogelijk. De bediening omvat PRE-TARE voor bekende tarragewichten, een receptfunctie voor het wegen van mengselcomponenten met controle van het totaalgewicht, controlewegen met een optisch signaal voor portioneren, doseren of sorteren, en vrij programmeerbare eenheden zoals draadlengte g/m of papiergewicht g/m². Een antischoksysteem tussen weegschaal en weegcel dempt trillingen voor snellere, zekerder resultaten. Een ringvormig windscherm is standaard gemonteerd (weegruimte ∅×H 90×40 mm), en een beschermende werkhoes is inbegrepen.
