Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium (IMDM) with L-glutamine is a more complex and enriched Dulbecco-type basal medium used for a variety of specialised cell types and as a basis for certain serum-free formulations. This 500 ml medium is supplied with L-glutamine, phenol red, sodium bicarbonate and HEPES, and without beta-mercaptoethanol and without alpha-thioglycerol. IMDM is reported to support murine B lymphocytes, haemopoietic tissues from bone marrow, B cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, T lymphocytes and a wide range of hybrid cells.
