De unieke en vervangbare polyethyleen (PE) Safe-Cone filters fungeren als een laatste barrière om te voorkomen dat vloeistoffen en vloeistofdampen de interne componenten van de pipet bereiken. Standaard Safe-Cone filters zijn voor algemene toepassingen. Ze kunnen worden gebruikt voor hetzelfde soort werk als waarvoor de Plus filter wordt aanbevolen, maar moeten vaker worden vervangen. Zelfsluitende Plus Safe-Cone filters zijn bedoeld voor toepassingen zoals radioactief werk, celkweek, bacteriologisch en virologisch werk en moleculaire biologie. De frequentie van het vervangen van het filter hangt af van de toepassing en het monster. Volgens onderzoek moet het filter echter dagelijks (of na 50 tot 250 pipetteringen) worden vervangen en onmiddellijk in geval van overmatige aspiratie.
