Testinkten kunnen informatie verschaffen over de hechtsterkte van drukinkten, lakken en lijmen op alle oppervlakken zoals kunststof, metaal en glas, en over de mate van reinheid in mN/m (dyne/cm).
De testinkten zijn vloeistoffen (van 30 tot 72 mN/m volgens ISO 8296 komt overeen met DIN 53364, ASTM D 2587, JISK 6768) met een gedefinieerde oppervlaktespanning, die blauw gekleurd zijn. De oppervlaktespanning van het te testen materiaal wordt bepaald door de testinkten eenvoudig aan te brengen. Ze zijn verkrijgbaar in een bereik van 18 tot 105 mN/m oppervlaktespanning, in fles- of stiftvorm (28 tot 72 mN/m). Kleurloos: 18, 74, 76, 84, 90 en 105 mN/m. Giftig van 24 tot 57 mN/m. Resultaat: Als de randen van de aanbrenging met penseel, wattenstaafje of stift binnen 2 seconden samentrekken, herhaal de meting dan met de eerstvolgende lagere waarde. Als de randen naar buiten uitlopen, herhaal de meting dan met de eerstvolgende hogere waarde. De oppervlaktespanning is bereikt wanneer de lijn gedurende 2 seconden blijft staan.
Houdbaarheid 1 jaar ongeopend, 6 maanden na opening. Individuele componenten van de testinkten verdampen in verschillende mate. Sluit flessen en stiften na gebruik goed af.
