F1 wire weight is a fine calibration mass from the Sartorius F1 weight programme spanning 1 mg to 10 kg. Within this line, values up to 500 mg are realised as plate or wire-style pieces: aluminium at a density of 2,7 g/cm³, nickel silver for 1–5 mg pieces at 8,7 g/cm³, and non-magnetisable special steel from 10 mg to 500 mg at 8,0 g/cm³ with high corrosion resistance. Larger knob weights are high-gloss polished for clean handling on balance pans during verification and adjustment. The associated presentation uses a wooden case that keeps denominations ordered for laboratory and service use. This wire weight from manufacturer Sartorius is aimed at metrology, quality control and balance maintenance where OIML F1 accuracy is specified and a compact wire geometry is preferred for the lowest milligram values.
