L'isopropanol est parfaitement adapté comme agent de clarification pour l'inclusion en paraffine, car il est miscible à la paraffine fondue : après déshydratation à l'isopropanol, l'échantillon est incubé dans un mélange d'isopropanol abs. et de paraffine (1:1) à environ 60 °C. Après une étape d'incubation supplémentaire dans la paraffine pure, l'échantillon est inclus comme à l'accoutumée. Cette méthode est particulièrement adaptée aux organes mous. Comme l'inclusion peut commencer immédiatement après l'étape de l'alcool, le processus de travail est considérablement raccourci.
