Description

SPE glass columns CHROMABOND® C18 ec are solid-phase extraction (SPE) columns for sample preparation in analytical laboratories. Each column has a 3 ml volume and is packed with 200 mg of C18 ec (octadecyl, end-capped) absorbent for reversed-phase SPE of non-polar and moderately polar analytes from aqueous and organic matrices. The glass column format is compatible with common SPE solvents used in loading, washing and elution steps. Packs contain 50 pieces, supporting routine sequences on standard vacuum manifolds and related SPE hardware. The CHROMABOND® C18 ec phase from manufacturer MACHEREY-NAGEL is applied in environmental, food, pharmaceutical and clinical sample-preparation workflows ahead of HPLC, LC-MS or GC analysis. End-capped C18 sorbents are a standard option when reversed-phase retention is required during clean-up and concentration. These columns fit established SPE protocols and are used in method development as well as routine chromatography-focused sample preparation in research and quality-control laboratories.

What is this article?

SPE glass columns CHROMABOND® C18 ec, 3 ml vol., absorbent weight 200 mg is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in SPE cartridges & columns, inside SPE & sample preparation, in Chromatography equipment.

An SPE cartridge holds a bed of sorbent. Bed mass, sorbent chemistry and volume are the specification. A 100 mg C18 cartridge and a 1 g C18 cartridge take different sample loads and different elution volumes. The method names all three.

Solid-phase extraction holds a compound on a sorbent while the rest of the sample is washed away, then releases it in a small volume. The sorbent, the bed mass and the solvents are the method. Silica, ion exchangers and polymer phases do different jobs. A flash column is the same idea scaled toward purification rather than trace cleanup. The molecules are on PubChem, named by IUPAC.
