Description

BOLA GT stirrer seals NS 29/32 for 6 mm stirrer shafts combine a borosilicate glass ground-joint section with a precisely guided PTFE guide sleeve that integrates a special seal and a GL screw cap of PPS. The special seal of PTFE with an FPM O-ring is pressed by the GL cap to give the correct sealing force against the stirrer shaft and can be exchanged after wear without replacing the whole assembly. The glass part carries the European-norm ground joint, while the PTFE sleeve centres the shaft. Dimensions are core NS 29/32, shaft diameter 6 mm, overall length approximately 90 mm, and cap thread GL 25. Net weight is 0,058 kg. These GT stirrer seals from manufacturer Bohlender are intended for laboratory stirring on NS 29/32 glassware where a glass–PTFE construction and a serviceable shaft seal are preferred. The product is supplied as a single piece for new builds or for replacement of comparable GT-type stirrer closures in chemical laboratory setups.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about BOLA Glass Stirrer Bearings, NS 29/32 GL 25 Ø 6 mm GLASS/PTFE/FKM

What is this article?

BOLA Glass Stirrer Bearings, NS 29/32 GL 25 Ø 6 mm GLASS/PTFE/FKM is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
