Description

DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium) without glucose and L-glutamine is a widely used basal medium for supporting the growth of many different mammalian cells when full control over energy and glutamine sources is required. This 500 ml formulation contains phenol red and is prepared without L-glutamine, without glucose and without sodium pyruvate, allowing researchers to define glucose and glutamine supplementation themselves. The presence of phenol red enables simple visual assessment of pH during culture. As a flexible basal medium it suits experimental designs in which carbon-source or amino-acid levels must be adjusted for particular mammalian cell types or metabolic studies. Offered by manufacturer Sartorius as a single-unit pack with a net weight of 0,500 kg and gross weight of 0,580 kg, the product provides a consistent, glucose- and glutamine-free DMEM base for laboratory cell-culture applications that demand precise medium composition.

Questions about DMEM W/O Glucose 500ml

What is this article?

DMEM W/O Glucose 500ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Click chemistry, bioconjugation & synthesis reagents, inside Biochemicals & reagents, in Microbiology lab supplies.

Click and bioconjugation reagents join two molecules under mild conditions, often an azide to an alkyne, or an NHS ester to an amine. The linker length and the reactive group are the specification. They are small bottles of a reactive compound, and moisture often ruins them.

A biochemical is a molecule of life, sold as a reagent: an amino acid, a sugar, a nucleotide, a lipid, an enzyme, an antibiotic. The difference from a bulk chemical is that the use is a biological one, and the impurities that matter are the ones that change that use. An enzyme is specified by activity, not only by mass. An antibiotic is specified by potency. Papers are on PubMed. Structures are on PubChem. Strains and lines that consume these reagents are at ATCC.
