Flexsafe® RM 20 L optical ViaMass single-use bioreactor bags are built for cell cultivation on Biostat® RM rocking-motion systems where low shear stress and integrated optical monitoring are required. Optical bags feature single-use opto-chemical pH and dissolved oxygen (DO) sensors that are already pre-calibrated, enabling continuous process control. Together with the Biostat® RM control tower they support high-end cultivation with full process automation across rocking-motion workflows. The bags fit Biostat® RM bioreactors and belong to the Flexsafe® RM single-use portfolio from manufacturer Sartorius, available in sizes from 2 L to 200 L. Rocking-motion mixing promotes homogeneous culture conditions while limiting mechanical stress on cells. In this optical ViaMass configuration the 20 L bag is supplied for applications that specify the ViaMass option alongside optical pH and DO sensing. Bags up to 50 L in the line may also use a 38 mm screw cap for adding or removing larger objects such as microcarriers in a laminar flow cabinet.
