Description

OTAL® foot pump PP, tube Ø 18 mm, flow rate 26 l/min is a compact universal foot-operated pump for dispensing and transferring liquids from drums and containers. Delivery tubes in polypropylene give good resistance to weak acids, alkalis and detergents, while the outlet can be turned upward after use to help prevent dripping. Operation follows the air overpressure principle: only the immersion tube contacts the liquid, supporting broad chemical compatibility within the PP tube range. A universal bung fits common container openings without thread matching, and the height-adjustable telescopic immersion tube can be shortened if needed for residual emptying from 220-litre drums as well as smaller canisters. Foot actuation keeps both hands free for filling. From manufacturer Bürkle, this OTAL® model is intended for cost-effective transfer of water, oils, acids, alkalis and liquid foods up to about 500 mPas viscosity in laboratory, chemical, food-processing and related settings. Pulsation-free flow is stopped promptly via the vent valve. Supplied as 1 pc, net weight 1,078 kg.

This article is part of Drum, barrel & transfer pumps, in Pumps, vacuum & evaporation.

Questions about OTAL foot pump PP, tube Ø 18 mm, pump cap. 26l/min

What is this article?

OTAL foot pump PP, tube Ø 18 mm, pump cap. 26l/min is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Drum, barrel & transfer pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.

A drum or barrel pump transfers tens of litres from a can that is too heavy to pour. Hand and electric drives differ. The tube material, stainless steel or plastic, has to survive the liquid. It is a transfer tool, not a metering pipette.

A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
