ASTEROID 25 stirring bar is a newly developed, high-performance magnetic stirring bar ideal for viscous media, stirring over distances or unfavourable vessel bottoms. More than four times higher torque can be transferred, delivering an unbeatable increase in mixing action compared with conventional stirring bars. It incorporates a high-energy, permanently stable magnetic field with no demagnetisation effect. The convex geometry provides minimal contact surface while ensuring reliable rotation, and the triangular contour generates strong thrust for greater mixing efficiency at lower speeds. The design also permits significantly higher rotational speeds and produces 300 % less PTFE wear than comparable round bars. A high-quality, smooth and sealed PTFE encapsulation is FDA-compliant and steam-sterilisable at 121 °C. Dimensions are 14 × 25 mm with a diameter of 14 mm; the form is triangular and convex. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer 2mag, this stirring bar multiplies the performance of any magnetic stirrer. Net weight is 0,01 kg and shipping weight approximately 0,07 kg. Material of the coating is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
