Description

Universal cold laboratory thermometer, similar to DIN, solid-stem design, measures from −200 °C to +30 °C with a 0,5 °C scale division. Built for low-temperature laboratory work, it uses a pentane filling and a prismatic, blue-luminous capillary that improves scale readability under typical bench lighting. The stem measures 400 mm in length and 9 mm in diameter and is specified for total immersion. A Richter closure with knob completes the robust solid-stem (Einschluss) construction used across general-purpose and cold-lab thermometer ranges. Offered as one piece from manufacturer Amarell, the instrument is calibratable, supporting verification in quality-controlled environments. It is suited to cryogenic baths, freezer and cold-room checks, low-temperature reaction monitoring and other applications where reliable readings deep into the sub-zero range are required without departing from a classic liquid-in-glass format familiar to laboratory staff.

This article is part of Laboratory glass thermometers, in Temperature measurement.

What is this article?

Amarell universal thermometer / Precision thermometer, low temperature, similar is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Amarell for laboratory use. It sits in Laboratory glass thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column, often with a stated immersion depth, total or partial. The range and the division decide the reading. A partial-immersion thermometer read at the wrong depth is wrong by design.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
