Description
Analog Shore hardness tester SAUTER HBA, 100-0 is a compact handheld Shore durometer with drag pointer for determining indentation hardness (Shore). It is intended primarily for internal comparative measurements; formal standard calibrations such as according to DIN 48-4 are not feasible because of the very tight normative tolerances. The instrument covers the Shore A range and is suited to rubber, elastomers, neoprene, silicone, vinyl, soft plastics, felt, leather and comparable materials. A Max mode uses the drag pointer to retain the peak reading for convenient readout. The unit can be mounted on the SAUTER TI-AC test stand when a more controlled test setup is required. Supplied from manufacturer Kern in a protective plastic box as a single complete instrument, this analogue hardness tester supports routine quality checks and material comparison work in laboratory and workshop environments where portable Shore A assessment is needed.

Questions about Analogue Shore Hardness Tester SAUTER, HBA 100-0
What is this article?
Analogue Shore Hardness Tester SAUTER, HBA 100-0 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
